Terms of Service — storix.dev

1. Acceptance

By creating an account on storix.dev, you agree to these Terms of Service. The server is operated as a private project from Austria. If you do not agree, do not register.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to register. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Users under 18 must have parental consent.

3. Prohibited Content & Conduct

You agree not to use this server to:

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)Upload, share, or distribute any content that sexually exploits minors. This will result in immediate termination and reporting to Austrian authorities.

Illegal contentDistribute content illegal under Austrian law or EU regulations, including content promoting violence, terrorism, or hate crimes.

Spam & automated abuseSend unsolicited mass messages, run automated bots without prior written permission, or engage in any automated abuse.

—

Malware & phishingDistribute malicious software, phishing links, or content designed to harm other users or systems.

—

Harassment & hate speechHarass, threaten, or abuse other users. Hate speech based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or other characteristics is prohibited.

Explicit content in public roomsShare pornographic or explicit sexual content in public or federated rooms accessible to general audiences.

4. Account Termination

The operator reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at the operator's discretion and without prior notice in cases of serious violations. In cases involving illegal content, relevant Austrian authorities will be notified.

For minor first-time violations, a warning may be issued before termination.

5. Service Availability

This server is operated on a best-effort basis as a private project. No uptime guarantees are provided. The operator reserves the right to shut down, modify, or restrict the service at any time, with or without notice.

The operator is not liable for any loss of data or service interruptions.

6. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of content you create. By uploading content to this server, you grant the operator a limited license to store and transmit that content as necessary to provide the service. The operator does not claim ownership of your content.

6a. Liability for User Content

The operator acts as a hosting provider as defined under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Austrian E-Commerce Act (ECG) and is not liable for user-generated content transmitted or stored on this server.

The operator does not actively monitor private communications and has no general obligation to do so. The operator will act promptly upon receiving valid abuse reports and will remove illegal content once it has been brought to their attention.

To report illegal or abusive content, contact abuse@storix.dev. Reports will be handled as quickly as reasonably possible.

7. Federation

This server participates in the Matrix federation. Messages sent in federated rooms will be transmitted to and stored on other Matrix homeservers outside of the operator's control. You accept this as an inherent part of using the Matrix protocol.

8. Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the server after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Significant changes will be announced in the server's main room where possible.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Austrian law. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Austrian courts.
